On the 8th of March 2017, we decided to have a special thought for all the women working in heavy industries. In 2017, the gender balance and women’s rights are still at risk and even thought the ratio increased in few countries, it also decreased in some countries.
“In these troubled times, as our world becomes more unpredictable and chaotic, the rights of women and girls are being reduced, restricted and reversed.” (source: UN)
Many studies show that females in S&P 500 represent less than 5 % of CEO positions companies, but in terms of performance, business results increase in companies with greater diversity.

In industries like Oil & Gas extraction, Quarrying and Mining, numbers are going down to 3.3% for CEOs position and to 21.2% for total industry employees.
This statement from the World Economic Forum in 2016, still true in 2017, is alarming. What can we do about it? How can we make a change? As man and woman, how can we react?

Here is our message, sent on 8th of March 2017, for International Women’s Day that will be followed by a serie of interviews from “Women Of Steel” #BeBoldForChange:
Globally, the proportion of senior business roles held by women stands at 24% nowadays. There are less women working in Energy industry than in Tech industry. Almost 99% of energy companies are led by men and only 13% of senior management are women in the top 200 utility companies. (source: bcg)
Although, previous analysis show that teams with a male–female ratio between 40 and 60 percent produce results that are more sustained and predictable than those of unbalanced teams.
