Traditionally, this process required coke ovens, blast furnaces, steelmaking furnaces and rolling mills. A growing number of integrated mills use the direct reduction process to produce sponge iron without coke ovens and blast furnaces.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Iron:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Metal that extracted from iron ore.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Iron making:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The process of the reduction of iron ore.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Iron ore:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The primary raw material in the manufacture of steel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-9022\" src=\"http:\/\/www.steelavailable.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/L-01.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.steelavailable.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/L-01.png 284w, https:\/\/www.steelavailable.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/L-01-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/www.steelavailable.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/L-01-100x100.png 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 100px) 100vw, 100px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Ladle metallurgy: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The process whereby conditions (temperature, pressure and chemistry) are controlled within the ladle of the steelmaking furnace to improve productivity in preceding and subsequent steps, as well as the quality of the final product.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Limestone: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Used by the steel industry to remove impurities from the iron made in blast furnaces. Limestone containing magnesium, called dolomite, is also sometimes used in the purifying process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Line pipe: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Used for transportation of gas, oil or water generally in a pipeline or utility distribution system.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Liquid Steel:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The immediate hot molten steel product from steel melting factory<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Long products: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Long products are used in all industrial sectors, particularly in the construction and engineering industries. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Lost time injury frequency rate (LTIFR): <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LITFR is the number of injuries which has resulted in an employee or contractor being away from work at least one day after the day it occurred, per million hours worked.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-9023\" src=\"http:\/\/www.steelavailable.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/M-01.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.steelavailable.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/M-01.png 284w, https:\/\/www.steelavailable.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/M-01-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/www.steelavailable.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/M-01-100x100.png 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 100px) 100vw, 100px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Martensite:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The steel that has high hardness, but can be brittle. When carbon\/chromiumare cooled rapidly from their austenitising temperature during heat treatment<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, it will be formed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Mechanical tubing: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Welded or seamless tubing produced in a large number of shapes to closer tolerances than other pipe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Mini mill:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A small non-integrated or semi-integrated steel plant, generally based on electric arc furnace steelmaking. Casing is the structural retainer for the walls; tubing is used within casing oil wells to convey oil to ground level; drill pipe is used to transmit power to a rotary drilling tool below ground level.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Open-hearth process:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A process for making steel from molten iron and scrap. For instance, passive film.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Passivation:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Surface oxidising treatments, usually done by applying nitric acid.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Pellets:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An enriched form of iron ore shaped into small balls.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Pencil Ingots:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Small ingots produced in mini-steel plants. (in kg)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Permeability:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A magnetic property of materials related to their ability to be attracted by a permanent magnet or influenced by a magnetic field. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>pH:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A scale that showed the hydrogen ion concentration of solutions.
